Midday in New Bern

1/200sec 30mm f/9 ISO 100

I typically don’t use the same item twice in one day, but I took a trip down to New Bern for a stroll around the downtown area because it was a gorgeous day. It was a little too sunny for those awesome pictures, but I still found some good ones. I came back to this spot because I wanted to do a foil of yesterday’s shot. I played around with the settings again, only because I wanted to give that same feel of an unrealistic image. I made two focal points in the shot that I hope stand out. I moved color settings up and down until it looked just enough like a drawing or painting. The noise reduction attribute didn’t give the same effect as normal so I did have to play around a bit longer than I expected. I like last nights shot a little better, but this one has its own personality.

I walked around town for quite a while and captured some good shots, one of which I will use for Thursday’s work day.

Until tomorrow.

Midnight in New Bern

1/20sec 33mm f/4.5 ISO 1600

This was not taken at midnight, but for some reason the image reminded me of Midnight in Paris. There are definitely some quaint areas in this town and finding them and capturing them on the camera is a fun task. I was able to snag this one with some daylight left, on my way home from work. This is a path way right outside the convention center in town. I was going to post the original, but I liked the black and white version. I played around with the noise level again to give it a painted feel. I am starting to like that effect and it might become a prominent thing in the future. I feel as though I need to find my niche to set me apart from every other person out there. I will never be able to paint/draw something of this detail, so I might as well use a tool I have and work through it that way. It is already later in the evening so I am keeping this short. Sorry, no profound words of wisdom.

Until tomorrow.
