About Me and This Project

A friend mentioned project 365. An idea focused on taking a picture a day for one year. There are, of course, adaptations of this project; one being photoblogging. That is my goal here, with this website. I plan to take a picture a day, and write about that picture and its significance. I am doing this to help me with my photography as well as my writing. I have always enjoyed the latter, while photography is more of a growing interest. Going to school and studying radio, TV, and film definitely sparked that interest. Meeting some great people, participating with the best college TV show ever created, having some amazing courses with excellent professors, and a general exposure to the concept of photography and cinematography gave me new insight into this world. However, once I left college I lost a lot of those resources.

I recently purchased an entry level digital SLR and two additional lenses to give me the perfect starter kit. I played around a bit, taking random photos of my surrounding area, but never with any real focus or ideas about what I was trying to accomplish. With this site—this concept—I hope to add more meaning and focus to both of my hobbies. I hope you enjoy this site, and of course let me know what you think.

  1. It’s the first time I read this, and I expected that it was a kind of project ‘to post a photo every day’. It goes well and I like your posts! I wish that I also can write so well and so much like you. But that is a little bit difficult for me. That’s maybe because I’m just 14 years and I’m Belgium…

I will be definitely following your project 365. Actually I am doing one just now in google plus and I am one of the curators. At the time I hadn’t started a blog yet, though my tells my experience, difficulties as a photography lover.

Greetings, I found your blog this afternoon and have enjoyed perusing some of the photos, my favorites being those from the 50mm lens; I adore that lens and enjoyed some of your comments about it. I admire the 365 project, I am currently participating in a 52 week project for the year, so I appreciate the inspiration of those who post every day. I look forward to viewing more.
