I wanted to play around with two images I captured yesterday. They were both taken at 50mm so it’s a two for Wednesday special. When I was messing around with the image of the building, I got the look I wanted buy the sky was completely blown out. I didn’t really want that for this image. So I looked at another image from that same day, in the same exact area, I took and liked the way the sky looked. I created this in Photoshop by making two layers. The bottom layer was the sky and the top layer the building. I didn’t just want the image of the clouds to be the background though. I wanted to add some cool aspect to it. I was testing out a few filters and I found the lighting one. You are able to take a light element (as if you were holding a light bulb) and bring it around all over the layer, and change the intensity, the size and so forth. I played around a bit until I got the look I wanted. I even added some color to it to give it even more drama. I really like the outcome of today’s image. I hope you all do too.
I am heading out to the beach this evening to see if I can capture some cool shots of a sunset or some lower, photography friendly, sun images. Hopefully it all turns out well.
Until tomorrow.

Looks very cool. That building is awesome!
Thanks. Yeah it is a cool looking structure. A lot of detail in it.
Well done Dan!
The detail in the building is great.
Thanks so much, Pablo. It is fun playing with the different scales and seeing which way to make details pop. Surprisingly, they were the opposite of what I figured.
